My Background
Animals have been a part of my life since I was born. My parents raised Rottweilers and some of my earliest memories are of trying to reach the top of their nose to balance a cookie. Our house was not only filled with love and laughter but also meows and woofs.
At six years old I got the crazy idea that I wanted to be the best horseback rider in the world. My parents helped turn that silly idea into a real reality. We moved to a farm complete with not only cats and dogs but also horses, chickens, goats and the occasional (unwanted) rodent. I was exposed to all types of dog breeds, especially large dogs and working agility dogs. I also worked my figurative tail off and became that World Champion Horseback Rider that I had always wanted to become.
I followed the traditional route that would make any parent proud (well, not a garnet and gold loving parent). I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Majoring in Marketing and Minoring in Real Estate Analysis. While in college I married an Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer who loves animals more than any guy I know (really, show that left brained/motorcycle riding/serious guy a kitten and see what happens!). After we graduated we rode off into the corporate world sunset.
After many years of sitting inside an office all day, I finally made the decision to take a leap and do what I love - being active all day, meeting new people who feel they can put their trust in me and having clients that are tail waggin' happy to see me. Love of animals + a lifetime of experience with pets + a strong marketing and financial background to happily run and promote my business + want of an active work lifestyle = That Pet Sitter Girl.
